Kestrel Hawk (Falcon) house, Peregrine

KESTREL HAWK: ALSO KNOWN AS PEREGRINE, FALCON, OR AMERICAN KESTREL--This hawk needs open space, but a tree line would give some protection against severe weather and predators. The Kestrel mates in April-May and normally has five eggs that hatch about August.  The Kestrel easily accepts nesting boxes that meet its requirements:  space surrounding the box (except tree line behind box), space for nesting and hatching, and an entry hole big enough for it's body.  The Kestrel  mates for life and is about the size of a blue jay.
