APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF BATS THAT OUR TWO CHAMBER BAT HOUSE HOLDS: 50 LITTLE BROWN BATS
SIZE: 12" wide, 14" heighth, 4" depth
CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN: rustic and sturdy, Holley houses are made of hard pine that is fire hardened. The bats are attracted to the smell of the fire hardened wood; secondly, the fire hardening protects the wood naturally, extending the life of the house. Our houses last approximately 15-20 years, depending on climate.
Each bat house meets the need of bats for insulated shelter, a birthing chamber, and safety from predators. There is a "landing pad" at the opening, a predator guard on the inside, two chamber, plus an additional space that is a birthing chamber close to the top of the house..a safe place for the bat "babies."
Each bat house is customized to the size of bats in your area. Every bat house is sprayed with our Bat Attract before shipping in order to help the bats find your house a faster. There is always a representative to answer your questions: e.g., size of house needed and best placement of your house. LITTLE-KNOWN BAT FACTS: Bats are a critical part of our eco-system: they eat close to their weight in mosquitos and other disease-bearing insects every night. They are the best and most natural mosquito repellent available and preventing diseases, e.g. zika. They drastically reduce, and often eliminate the need for applying chemically harmful insect repellents. Bats also help pollinate our growing food supply all over the world
We appreciate you, the customer, for your help in caring for our environment through the use of bat houses that attract bats. Bats work in our behalf to control disease ridden insects, e.g.,mosquitos, eating three quarters to one pound of bugs every night. They also help pollinate our growing food supply.
